Data source can't be activated without error

Hi everyone,

Even if we activate datasource in RSA5, no error is shown and the datasource isn't activated.

When we go to RSA6, the datasource is visible there.

Do you have any clue about this issue ?

Thanks you all.

Regards.

Did you check in rsa3 for the extractor that you activated?

Hi Mohamad,

it sounds like that the data source is active but you might be just mislead by the red icon which indicates that the data sources are not enabled for ODP replication.

Check Knowledge Base Article 2173041:

"Symptom

In transaction RSA5 or RSA6 your datasources look like they are inactive because the ICON to the right hand side is red.

Resolution

  1. The ICONS are misleading if you are not aware of their meaning.
  2. Within RSA5 or RSA6, go to the menu bar and choose "Utilties" and choose "Color Key"
  3. The red icon just means that the datasource is not released for ODP. To release it, see SAP Note 2232584.
  4. Only when datasource cannot be seen in RSA6 but just in RSA5, it means the datasource is inactive. After activating it in RSA5, it'll be shown in RSA6. If check table ROOSOURCE, you'll see 2 entries for version A and D."

Best regards,

Andreas
