HI,

please checkout this document to understand what CVI (Customer-Vendor-Integration) means and how it works inside of S/4HANA.

In a nutshell: (taken from the document linked here)

"CVI is an automated procedure supported by the Master Data Synchronization Cockpit tool. It is used to synchronize Customer Master and Vendor Master objects with SAP Business Partner objects. CVI assigns every Customer and Vendor master data object to a newly created SAP Business Partner object and vice versa."

CVI is a procedure in S/4HANA. SAP MDG is a business function running on top of S/4HANA. SAP MDG therefore utilizes CVI implicitly when working with BPs, customers, vendors....

For GENIL please check this blog:

Thanks olafkexel .

Why do we explicitly define Genil for BP and not for MM and 0G?

Hi,

sorry I do not have an answer for this, since I am not an expert on GENIL.

In the context of master data management and SAP MDG, CVI plays a relevant role (even though not a very important one). In my discussions with customers on SAP MDG over the past years I never came across GENIL in any conversation....

Maybe some one else in this community has an idea. What is the context you think of, connecting Master Data Management and GENIL?
