Custom Notification in Fiori Launchpad S/4Hana Public Cloud send from BTP

Hi everyone,

how do I implement a custom notification shown in Fiori Launchpad in S/4HANA Public Cloud?

E.g. we want to show informations from an BTP application (updates or simple general text information).

Hi ak225,

The notification API's are not yet released for customer use in Cloud systems, hence it is currently not supported for creating custom notifications in BTP applications(ABAP Cloud).

Although the feature for natively raising notifications within RAP model are planned for future and still under discussion.

Moreover, the notifications produced in BTP are only shown in the corresponding Fiori Launchpad(embedded), meaning they won't be visible on the Fiori Launchpad that is connected to S/4 Hana cloud system.

Hello subramanivig, thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, we know that the ABAP Cloud cannot throw messages in the S/4 backend. That's why we wanted to implement it ourselves. However, as you describe, the corresponding API is unfortunately missing in S/4, so it would be nice if this could be implemented as soon as possible. I hope that there are already efforts and a schedule in this regard. Do you have more detailed information on this? Thank you.
