Current Date Input control missing from dynamic text menu

Greetings,

I have a story that uses a custom Current date input control. In the past, I have been able to include dynamic text in my story that references this input control. I can still see this dynamic text in old stories but the option to select the Custom date input control does not appear to be available when I create a new story. Did this functionality change/move? Thank you.

Within the classic design experience, I have the option under the 'Story Filters' section. Within the Optimized Design Experience, that section within the Dynamic Text menu says 'No objects available.' I follow the same procedure for creating the Custom Date input control in each story mode and get different results for the dynamic text option. Any additional help/confirmation of behavior is appreciated.

2nd Update: @William_Yu1  I am able to get the Current Period input control in my dynamic text menu by temporarily adding another input control to the page in my story (doesn't matter which dimension). Once that is added both the new input control and existing Current Period input control are available in the Dynamic Text menu under 'Input Controls' 'Story Filters'.

thanks for the update, this looks more like a random bug to me. Is this story migrated from classic?
