Currency other than official for a localized country

Dear experts,

we completed CLT process for Malta in S/4HANA Public Cloud. Upon creating a CoCd in the new country, we realized that local currency has been automatically set to EUR, and there was not way to influence this at any stage of the process. Apparently, the currency was taken over from Germany, or there is an implicit list of official currencies for each country available for localization as per Note 3107866.

We have a clear requirement from client to go for USD. The reasoning is that we are talking about a global business in the area of cruise/maritime rather than a local Maltese one. They are under a special regulation and are allowed to run accounting and submit reports in USD.

Currently we cannot define USD as neiter Global (non changeable) nor Local currency, which makes planning and management reporting difficult. Only Functional currency can be set to USD, which is not really of use for CO...

Question: can we re-run the CLT process so that the currency for Malta is set to USD?

Thanks beforehand,

Victor

Dear Victor,

The ISO currency for Malta is EURO, hence in the system you see EURO.

Thank you Sathya! I understand what is official/ISO currency for a country. Is there an option to deviate from this in CLT, given client's requirement?
