Crystal Reports: sum columns and display only one record for repeating data

Hi everyone, as the title implies I have repeating data in the output with only the CPT column changing but apparently that's not a issue for the finance guy that uses this report.  (view the screen shot below for reference)

It is a really lengthy report that I'm trying to reduce down and sum up repeating rows for the end user.  I have limited experience in crystal but am comfortable with basic sql coding.  This might be easier to accomplish in the source sql code set but I'd like to learn how to do this in crystal so it does not modify the base report in the event someone runs it with different  parameters out of business objects.  

I'm hoping the screen shot explains exactly what needs to be done, it's far easier than trying to type it up for readability.  Please let me know if this is not clear, I've already removed the repeating rows that were in the output with all zeros by suppressing them in the details section. Option 1: Group by Acct_ID at level 1. Group by Date of Service at level 2. Show totals in GF2. Suppress Detail section.

Option 2: Insert a CrossTab with Rows based on Acct_ID and Date of Service.
