One of my older reports recently started showing all text compressed on one line, both in Design and Preview.
When I export however, all text is displayed correctly. Also when I edit a text box, the text is shown somewhat correct (though it is cut off at the end).
How can I fix this?
SAP Crystal Reports 2016 Support Pack 6

First thing to check and ask yourself is "What Changed"?
Often but not always Microsoft Windows upgrades can "break" CR.
You can check them out in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features:
before uninstalling ANYTHING check with your IT department, they may have pushed something out you can't change.
I suspect your default Printer changed, open the report in CR Designer and go to File, Page Setup. Depending on what was set, could be Margins, could be Paper Size etc. it could even be a registry key CR uses to set the spacing:

Some PDF printers have issues with margins etc. that can affect how CR format's text objects in regards to spacing, formatting for Can Grow etc.
You'll have to do some digging, do all users have the same issue?
