Trying to make a change to an existing CR Report design and to create a new CR Report, is very frustrating and slow
I have Visual Studio 2019 with the latest updates and CR25 update
When I make a change to the CR Report, it causes the report design to hang and Visual Studio also stops responding, Eventually the only solution is to close the program and restart - but that becomes frustrating when it is repetitive and requires frequent restarts
Without using the CR Report design, there are no problems with Visual Studio,

Please search first, known issue with the embedded report designer in VS 2019.
Fix for this will be in SP 26 due out end of November.
Work around is to download the trial version of CR 2016 or use your own copy of CRD.

I happened to find a temporary fix "by mistake": Visual Studio 2019 / Report Designer / SP25: when you do any operation (right click, menu click, combobox click) and the menu is not opening, the UI is not responsive anymore, etc,...
>> JUST TRY TO PRESS THE <CTRL> CONTROL KEY on your keyboard!!!
For me, in that moment, the UI is responsive again, the contextual right click menu is shown, the combobox list is shown, the menu is shown.
I know, it's so stupid, I have not found any explanation for this. Give it a try and please leave a feedback here! Just press ONCE, the CTRL key... No combinations, just the CTRL key...

Do you have "Save data with report" turned on? If so, turn it off and save the report. That way it won't try to update data for every change that you make.
