I want to purchase a license of Crystal Reports. My plans are to use it with SQL Server 2014.

There 's posible to conect Crystal Reports directly to SQL Server without a language.

Example: A report designed with Crytal Reports that shows a report of products with a range of letters that the user must digit

Yes. You can set up parameters and use them in the Select Expert or a Command to filter the data in your report.

John Clark, thanks for your reply...

But I want to know If Crystal reports allow parameters to filter records in a report. Example:

Send parameters to a store procedure that filters records and Crystal shows it

You can use ODBC or OLEDB to connect to SQL Server. You will just need to make sure that your have database drivers installed.
