Crystal reports 2020 : Auto resize ?

Hello,

Since CR 2020 version. I want to change the width property, without change the height field.

So, I put a number in width case (5) , I use the tab button -> Then, height changed automatically.

Why ?

I noticed that sometime, if I pressed the enter button, after my number input, the window closes without changing the height property.
The opposite is also true. -> To change height field, change the width field.

It's a normal operation ?

Thank you.

What you are experiencing is normal behaviour.

By tabbing to the height CR assumes you want to retain the same ratio.

If you don't want to change it then click OK without tabbing.

This is by design and normal behaviour.

Hello,

Thank you for your answer.

I understand, but it's surprising.
It's not the most common need in report development.

Best.

It's always been this way and no one complained so it is what it is....

This is new. I didn't experience this ever happening with Crystal 2008, only when we switched to Crystal 2020.

FYI - minimum size is 1.2. Also the default printer is used to format the report, changing that can adjust the margins and sizes

changing width or height without tabbing and directly clicking on OK still changes the opposite value, preserving the ratio. Its really annoying. The only solution is to manually drag and resize the field, which is not precise. I am coming from SSRS, PBI Report Builder, DevExpress Report Builder and bunch of other pixel perfect report builders experience. What is missing in CR is a lock sign between width and height if you want to preserve a ratio, and massively missing a properties panel - where you can see all the properties of the selected object. Using CR 2020

That would be a great enhancement request, unfortunately I no longer work for SAP, retired now, so I can't access their Enhancement Request system, requires a S-User ID to submit one. I'll pass your request onto one of the Rep's and see if he cna do it for You.
