I just upgraded to Crystal 2016 from Crystal 2008. I have found 2 reports that were created in CR 2008, so far, where the printing runs off the right side of the page when printing from Crystal 2016. The same reports print correctly when printed from Crystal 2008. The same thing happens on 2 different printers with different print drivers. I therefore surmise this is not a printer or a report problem.
Both reports are designed with 8" data areas and 0.25 left and right margins. The "No Printer..." option is checked on both reports. The report looks fine on the Preview tab.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Dan McCaskill,
Please check the registry value, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crystal Decisions\<version>\Crystal Reports\Export\PDF\ForceLargerFonts
Please check opening the report from Crystal Reports > Design view
I would suggest to try in Crystal Reports which is mentioned by Dell also, select the option 'No printer' from File menu ->Page setup and check that the report has been created inside the report margins or not
Thanks,
Kaushik

Thank you for your answer. I looked for the key you indicated in my registry value but could not find at the path you indicated. I think I found the same thing in a similar path in my registry but there was no PDF key, there was only an Excel key.
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Crystal Reports\Export
I found out that if I check the box "Dissaociate Formating Page Size and Printer Paper Size" in the "Page Setup" window it appears to fix the problem. This option is 'unchecked' on all of our pre-2016 designed Crystal reports that I have randomly checked so far (about a dozen). I don't know why they are all unchecked, since it appears that when creating a new report in Crystal 2008 or 2016 that option defaults to 'checked'. For whatever reason, all of these reports printed fine in Crystal 2008 with that option unchecked. I am hopeful that checking this option will be the resolution for all reports as I update them to 2016.
Thanks,
Dan
In the page settings, I would try setting a printer in the report instead of setting it to "No Printer" or even just set the printer to a valid printer (one of the two you tested with) and leave "No Printer" turned on. Crystal will use the printer that's there for formatting even if No Printer is checked.
