Hello experts,
We implementing MDG on S/4 HANA, where we need to create Hierarchies for Supplier master data. As per my little understanding, I think first we need to create the hierarchies in MDG and then the task of assigning suppliers or business partners to the hierarchies will come. Should we be creating those hierarchies at BP level or supplier level.
Can any one of you tell me or guide me as to how we should create this hierarchy for supplier. I can see a lot of CR Types available from standard.
1) which CR types to use from the following. My assumption says either BPHP1 or BPHP2 to be used. I could be wrong too.
BP1P2 Create Bus. Partner w. Hry. Assignment
BPHP1 Process Business Partner Hierarchies
BPHP2 Process Business Partner Hierarchies
SUPPL1P2 Create Supplier w. Hierarchy Assignment
2) Since we are doing this in MDG on S/4 HANA, should we create hierarchies at BP level or supplier level?
Thanks, T

@titu4mdg Hello, nice to e-meet you!
Supplier hierarchies are different as compared to BP Hierarchies.
The same functionality is not available out-of-the-box with SAP MDG-BP.
In order to maintain supplier hierarchies in SAP MDG, you will need to create a custom solution for maintaining the same - this could be done with custom data model enhancement of BP data model to accommodate the supplier hierarchy assignment functionality.
I would suggest you go through the transaction codes such as MKH1, MKH2 and see how the functionality works.
Also, explore the option with business if they can maintain this set of data outside of SAP MDG i.e. via transaction code access.
Below are some of the important documentations that might help you design the same:
