Create a project and assign blueprint and test plan solution manager 7.2

Hello

We recently upgraded solution manager to 7.2 and now we need to create an SPS upgrade project for our ECC and CRM landscape in solution manager

In solman 7.1 , we used to follow project (solar_project_admin) -> Road MAP -> Blue printing (solar01)-> Configuration(solar02) -> Testing Package(stwb_1) -> Test Plan (stwb_2)

1. I am not clear how do I start in solman 7.2 ? Can you please help by providing the steps and tcodes to it for a good starting point

2. How do I connect project -its blueprint - test plan ?

TIA

Shradha

Hello Shradha Sampat

Please see below example for your reference.capture-1.jpg

You might see several systems and all systems with Quality role etc as per branch in your solution while generating test plan but it doesn't mean that test cases will run on all systems here. It is upto your requirement how you design your testing framework i..e test package etc here.

hope this clarifies..please do check the blog link I have shared.

Thanks

@Prakhar :: Thanks again for the info

Yes I have our CRM and ECC systems listed under logical component group in test plan same as the screenshot you shared

I have another question (sorry very new to solution manager 7.2) ,I uploaded an ecc finance bpr content from soladm and while importing the bpr for section "

Map system landscape of the source content to the solution system landscape"

1. do we have to create new corresponding logical components for each source logical component ?

2. if yes , do we have to assign systems to each newly created logical component group so that we can use the bpr in test plan management under test case selection ?

Thanks

Hello Shradha Sampat

First - you need to have basic setup in Solution Manager which means mapping of all LCG and systems into the same. After you need to complete setup for process management test management etc.

Second - Soldoc structure for business processes aligned to Testing

Third - Test scripts in Soldoc uploaded as per testing requirements

Forth - test suite - test plan / test package / testing

hope this clarifies.

Thanks

Thanks Prakhar for the info !! I have been going through the blogs and saphelp

Based on my understanding from the blog and saphelp, we now have two logical component groups one for our ECC systems and one for our CRM systems.

1. I am at the stage of creating test plan for ECC system and under general tab when I select system role id as "QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM",it brings up QA system of both CRM and ECC. Does it mean all the test cases selected for this test plan will get executed in ECC and also CRM QA system ?

2. If yes, how do I separate it for the test plan so that only ECC QA system have those test cases ?

TIA

Hello Shradha Sampat

Yes you can select the required test plan ROLE for systems in your test plan

You can generate test plan aligned to your business requirement I don't understand where you struck. Could you please paste your screenshot of your issue so we can assist.

Thanks

Hello Shradha Sampat

There are no longer concept of upgrade or implementation projects etc. rather whole concept is rebuilt it as SOLUTION DOCUMENTATION in Solution Manager 7.2 version.

You can visit below blog ...which shows a sample file upload to create a structure for testing etc. which might be suitable for you.

https://blogs.sap.com/2018/03/15/first-test-plan-on-solution-manager-7.2-for-sap-implementation-with...

also visit below too

https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/SM/Getting+Started+WIKI+for+SAP+Solution+Manager

https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/SM/SAP+Solution+Manager+7.2+-+Solution+Landscape+Design

Above should help you to gain some insight about new version but I think you need to rework this topic from your side and finding the requirements for your customer too....as now we have more flexibility of linking soldoc+charm or soldoc+charm+testing etc. as per case.

Hope this helps

Thanks
