Consume HANA views in SAP Datasphere

We have many HANA views (calculation/consumption/reporting views) already being accessed in SAC dashboards/reports. Now we want to access/consume those HANA views in Datasphere eventually to be consumed in other client tools for dashboarding/reporting (not just SAC). Do we have to rebuild the entire flow and views in Datasphere or is there a way to reuse those HANA views in Datasphere? Please suggest.

You can use Datasphere just as a enablement and consume the Hana views real time. Efforts are very minimum.  This co-existence of 2 warehouse system could be just during transition phase since eventually you will have to move completely to datasphere.

You will have to create some DSP object which maps the HANA views, else DSP will not know there are any, rt? It is not a rework - you do not need to rebuild the VDM in DSP, you just replicate the remote tables to DSP as Views f.e.

For mass processing I would go for replication flow.

You can create a connection to you HANA DB in Datasphere, then import those HANA views into Datashpere as a remote table to access them  remotely. You also can build graph view on top of those HANA view for transformation or replicate the data in those HANA view for better perforamnce in Datasphere.

Yes i can build graph view if there are less HANA views. Its a kind of rework. What if there are many HANA views?

Hi Simon,

We have similar scenario, we created SDI(DPagent), SDA cloud connector based on premise HANA Connections. When i am importing HANA Views as remote tables from  _SYS_BIC. i am able to see structure. But Input parameters and variables are not getting passed to datasphere? we don't want to develop all HANA views again in datasphere. did any one faced same issue? any issue with my connectors? any other alternative solution?.

Regards,

Joe
