Consider enabling partitioning in Oracle DB in ERP production

Dear SAP,

As our DB size approaching 32 TB, we are facing numerous challenges. One of them is to reduce sizes, the other is performance, and more.

I am asking if we can enable DB partitioning in Oracle DB. Can you provide some guidance and direction? Or advise if this is a sound decision based on what we are facing now. Five of the top tables are over 1TB. And the data growth is around 200GB per month.

Regards

Hi,

I regret to tell you, using extra partitioning for individual tables (so for the ones that are not automatically partitioned by SAP) is not possible anymore. This is clearly documented in Point 11 of SAP note https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/722188

...

As of December 01, 2019, we will no longer support the use of the Partitioning Engine for SAP/Oracle systems. Customers who have been using the SAP Partitioning Engine in productive SAP systems before December 01, 2019 will continue to receive support.

...

Maybe you would like to migrate to HANA DB with such a huge and quickly growing database.
