Hi Team,
I want to develop some sustainability reports in SAP Analytics cloud using workday tool( non -sap). Right now there is no direct connection option is available for workday so please help me if we can connect through import data connection using Odata services , SQL connection etc ?
Request clarification before answering.
Hello pooja.paliwal,
Workday and SAC are competing product in overlapping spaces (planning, analytics and predictive). This is one of the reason, why I think you may not see any direct connection option in future as well.
SAP contract do not have much limitation on what non-SAP system can become source to SAC. This opens up multiple options for you. You can stage your workday extract in SQL based DB and then access SQL table data in SAC via import connection (or live connection if you have SDA and SDI HANA licenses). SAC supports import connection form a multitude of relational DB's. Find out more on supported DB's and the setup in this link.
Beside if you are ok with some file server based setup, then a easy option would be to export (automated) data from Workday to a file server (it can be a on premise file server or AWS S3 bucket) and then setup an import job in SAC to pull data in SAC models periodically. Import Data from File Server.
Now when it comes to exposing SAC data to non-SAP systems (sending data from SAC to Workday) you will encounter contractual limitations. For this you may need to work with SAP AE to iron out the details and check if contract allows such setup. I am afraid, answer would be "no".
But theoretically you can still do this by same file server based setup. Export SAC model data to file server and Workday pick up flat files from file server.
If you find shared information helpful, dont forget to accept (accept button at the bottom) and vote (voting arrows on left side).

Hello pooja.paliwal,
OData 2.0 is a supported DS in SAC. So if you are planning to consume Odata DS from systems, that can support you can get this through to SAC.
Keep in mind the limitations of OData service based connection. Large volume of data import causes performance issues and failure.
Export from SAC via OData, is not supported yet.
Thanks,
Vijayeta
