Connect to Sybsase DB using isql

Hi all,

I've created a new environment via Cloud Appliance Library.

Template: SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP and SAP BW 7.50 SP02 on SAP ASE 16.0

I can SSH to the server, however can't connect to the DB.

sid-aba:~ # /sybase/ABA/OCS-16_0/bin/isql -S ABA -U SA -P MyPassword
Msg 4002, Level 14, State 1:
Server 'ABA':
Login failed.
CT-LIBRARY error:
  ct_connect(): protocol specific layer: external error: The attempt to connect to the server failed.

I've tried all the users which are mentioned in the giude - https://caldocs.hana.ondemand.com/caldocs/help/6f453362-60ef-4498-9f2b-9cc423f57280_Getting_Started_... 

Any ideas what is the root cause?

The password is the same one which was used during the creation of the template.

This is not related to Sybase Mainframe Connect, but I have added the tag for Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE)

Not sure if this is the issue, but I'm used to the login name "sa" being in lower case. It may not matter on a server configured with a case-insensitive sort order, but it likely does if the server is case sensitive.

I changed to lower case and was able to connect with sapsa and sapsso users. 

sa didn't work.
