Hi,

In the SAP S/4HANA 2408 release upgrade, some Asset Accounting apps, such as Post Acquisition (Non-Integrated) - With Automatic Offsetting Entry, are being deleted and replaced with the Post Asset Acquisition - And Quantity Adjustment app.

However, the new app doesn’t support posting for multiple assets simultaneously. According to SAP documentation, this can be achieved using the relevant API (see Fixed Asset – Post Asset Acquisition).

Can anyone provide guidance on how to use this API to enable multiple asset postings with the Post Asset Acquisition - And Quantity Adjustment app?

Hi Rizzei,

The question "how to call the OData API to enable multiple assets posting" may have different answers depending on the technology stack and tools your team have. The answer may also be different depending on your specific business requirement, for example, how many assets do you want to post within one batch.

1) If your team have tech stacks like Java, Python,... you have the full flexibility to create an app/program which uploads data from excel (or other data source), builds OData request payload based on the data and the batch size, and finally calls the OData service and retrieves the status;

2) If your team are familiar with Excel VBA, it's also possible to use Excel VBA to read data from excel and call OData service accordingly;

3) If your team happen to use postman, and if you from business perspective can accept that every asset can be posted separately (not having to be within one batch), you can check a feature in postman which could iteratively read the data (fixed asset) from a csv file and post to these assets one by one. https://learning.postman.com/docs/collections/running-collections/working-with-data-files/.
