CMS Database Setup - Recreate the current data source

I applied the option Recreate the current data source (by mistake), and now the services don't start.

Only the service "CentralManagementServer" works.

I have read some posts and it's supposed that after using this option there isn't reason to fail.

Tks in advance

Don't be panic.

Wait for some time(may be couple of hours) after that all will be UP/Running state.

Are you able to log-in to CMC??

Thank You!!

I hope you have a backup of your CMS database? If so, restore it.

Well, I see the services don't start.

I don't have a backup, it was a personal development system.

So, what's next? Reinstall BOBJ Enterprise?

If it's just a test system then you are probably ok not having backed up your database.

Are you on Windows or Unix? Either way, go in the CMC and enable all your other servers. Confirm your license key is still valid.

I'm on windows XP.

MSSQL

BOBJ Enterprise 3.1.

The keycode is valid, it expires next year.

From CMC the servers don't start, neither from CCM.

Something curious is that the system is not generating log.

Tks

3.1 isn't supported on XP I don't believe but if it was working before and is only a test environment, you may be ok. Are you able to enable the servers in the ccm?

Hi,

In CCM you will find an icon for "Update Object", try upgrading the Objects of your system. This should solve your issue.

Ramu.

When resetting the CMS DB you have an option to create the servers, did you select that? if not do it again.

after the new DB is created can you login to CMC and verify the license key is still there? If not re-add

On the CCM hit update objects and let the system objects get restored. Then try again

After all that try starting the other servers in the CCM - manage servers icon

Check windows event viewer for any error messages

Solution --> Software reinstalled

Gowda --> the option "Update Object" didn't work.

Tim --> I didn't see your post early. I am not sure about the option "create the servers"

Anyone solved this issue without software reinstallation.... I have the same problem....

Michael, unless you have a backup, I believe the only option is to re-install. The recreate current data source option purges the database and all the references to the other servers which is why they don't start.
