Change of SLD Link

Hi All,

We need your expert help.

We are currently using our local SLD for our NWDI development. This SLD is on the NWDI instance.

Now, we have a Central SLD and all the systems are being added to this master SLD. We are also planning to make this is our SLD and there by stopping the existing SLD. We currently are in a development of a new project for our E-commerce application and do not want this migration of SLD to effect it. Can you please let us know what steps to follow to ensure that the movement from the local SLD to the Central SLD happens with ease. Kindly let me know the steps for this.

Any pointers would be surely rewarded.

Can you please let us know what steps to follow to ensure that the movement from the local SLD to the Central SLD happens with ease. -


Maintain the Central SLD server settings.Login into the other system and go to Visual Administrator(c:\usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGS<instno>\j2ee\admin\go.bat)->Server->Services->SLD Data Supplier-> In the tabRuntime, HTTP Settings->Give the host name of the Central SLD system,Port number, SLDDSUSER,and password and save the settings and then in the

CIM Client Generation Settings->Give the hostname of the Central SLD system,port number,SLDDSUSER and Password,save the settings and click on the CIMClient Test to check the CIM Test.

Once the CIMTest is successful,

Click on the button(Assign application roles to user groups) and also on the button (trigger datatransfer to System Landscape Directory(SLD)),this transfer the settings to the Central SLD system.

Also change the settings in the AS ABAP -

change in the tcode-RZ70 ,give the hostname and service of the Central SLD system and check all the boxes in the Data Collection Programs and press execute(Start Data Collection and Job Scheduling

Thanks so much for your reply. We would be carrying out with the activity over this weekend. Just wanted to know is there any special other settings for NWDI apart from the details suggested by you. Please share incase you have any further documentation for the same.

you can change the connection in:

Visual Administrator --> Server --> Services --> SLD Data Supplier

You need to modify the settings on following tabs:

- Http Settings

- CIM Client Generation Settings

After changing the settings save and test (button on top) the connection. After that yur clients are registered in you new SLD.
