Hello All,

Im working on EP6 SP9. I created a new UME Role called "TestRole". Have assigned the role to myself but this role is not searchabe in Portal Content.

As a result, im unable to attach any iviews/Pages/Worksets to the role.

Comparing UME Role with SAP Portal Role, is there some option like Entry Point in case of UME Roles as well, 'coz even after assigning this role to myself, im unable to see it in my TLN.

Awaiting Reply.

Thanks and Warm Regards,

Hi Bharatwaj,

The logic in the code in this weblog is based on EP users, i.e. starting from users...it extracts PCD objects that are linked/assigned to the user.

But in my case/query, there could be assigned/unassigned roles.....I need to extract all the possible existing Roles from Portal.

So the logic would be different.

Any suggestions/inputs?????

Hi Bharathwaj,

I posted a wrong reply here.

Apologies.

But coming back to my query, I read some help pages which say that UME Roles are used to authorize UME actions and as a result would not be visible in the Portal Content. The roles which appear in Portal Content are the SPA EP Roles to which we attach content, so that the role(s) can be accessed by users.

Using UME Roles, the administrator can assign all UME related actions/controls to concerned EP administrators.

This solved my query.

However, I do appreciate your quick response on my query/post.

Thanks and Warm Regards,
