Hello,
I have a scenario where requirement is that, all users who has planning license should not be able to create a public version whereas they can create a private version, enter some value and publish the data in one of the public version which is already present in the model?
I checked the roles, but not able to find a proper role which fulfill this requirement. Let me know in case someone has any idea about this.

Thanks,

Hi saikhancs35 ,
You can remove the 'Maintain' right for the version dimension of that model from role definition. Without this right, user can't create a new empty public version or publish a private version as a new public version, but user still can plan and publish on existing public version.

Hi William, Thanks for the response.
I tried this option, but my scenario is like a user should create their own blank or copy private version and then they will share that version with some approver. If the approver is approved the amount which is filled , then the private version should be published to a existing public version.
But the person who is creating a private version should not be able to create a public version.
Thanks,
Saif
Hi William,
This is not working as expected.
I tried to disable the managed option for the version dimension used in the model, but still it is allowing me to create a blank public version.
To restrict that, i tried to uncheck the manage option of Public Files but in that case user can create empty private version but not able to publish it on existing or new public version.
Please let me know, if there is any other possibility.
Thanks,
Saif
