Can we connect to ECC system without creating Technical & business system in SLD for that ECC system

Hi All,

Would like to know if we can connect to ECC system without creating Technical & business system in SLD and importing it in Integration Directory?

Instead of importing Business system for ECC system can i create Business component and create outbound interface and with RFC connection between ECC and my flow in SAP PO can i get the IDOC in system PO?

Hi @manemahesh 

for IDOC it would be technical possible - as long as maintain correctly the Adapter Specific attributes. But now it comes already to a problem - you need to have the Logical System in those Adapter Specific attributes that the IDOC Adapter is able to fill the EDIDC record correctly.  Within your landscape, the logical system in table T000 must not be identical between D/Q/P - as otherwise ALE scenarios won't work.  So to avoid manual rework of the business system after transporting it from D->Q->P in the adapter specific attributes, it's advised to use SLD and setup the transport landscape there.

IF you plan later to setup Proxy interfaces - those won't work without the SLD lookup of the business system. There might be tweaks that you can manually load the information to the cache - but this is even worse to do so.

The technical systems should come from RZ70 distribution. In our company there is a central SLD on solution manager that is propagating to the SLD on PI. But it would work also if PI would be connected directly to central SLD.
