Can Variant Management be used to switch between List View and Reporting View with the same data?

I'm currently working on a Fiori application where I need to present the same underlying data in two different views: a classic List View and a Reporting View (for example, an OverviewPage). My question is:

Is it possible to use Variant Management to switch between these two distinct app views?

So far, I've used Variant Management primarily for storing and restoring filters, columns, or layout settings within a single template. However, my idea is to see if I can leverage it to swap out entire templates (i.e., switching from a List View to a Reporting View) while using the same data source.

If anyone has experience with this scenario or can share insights on whether this is feasible—or if not, what alternative approaches (such as routing or cross-application navigation) might be recommended—I would greatly appreciate your input.
