Can old BW 731 system consume data from EC Payroll into SAP BW by utilizing these OData Services?

Hi, Experts:

We need to transfer data from new EC Payroll system into our old BW system with release 731 with Support Pack level 30 (non-HANA). Since SAP has stated that RSA extractor is no longer supported, we won't be able to use Datasources (tcode RSA6).  OData services is one of the options we are considering. Does anyone know whether an old BW 731 system can consume data from EC Payroll into SAP BW by utilizing OData Services? What are the minimum system requirements for BW to consume data as the target system use OData Services? Any information of how to do it will be appreciated! Or any other options besides OData Services for complex data requirements in source system?

Several 0HR_PY* extractors are available also for ODP:

Hi, Roland, thank you very much for your help! It was a group of EC Payroll system consultants from SAP company working on a project for our company to set up a new ECP system that told us that SAP will not support RSA extractor to our old BW system and suggested we look for other options. The note 2232584 you mentioned is very helpful. But we still cannot replicate the ODP dataources. In EC Payroll system, we ran ABAP BS_ANLY_DS_RELEASE_ODP so the requested datasources 0HR_PY_PP_1/2 and some custom created generic datasources are available for ODP framework with entries in table ROOSATTR and “X” for Expose_External. We gave our Basis team to set up EC Payroll system as an ODP source system for our BW system. However, in Source System, we only see a single “ODP” folder instead of multiple folder (i.e. ODP-BW, ODP-SAP (extractors), ODP-SLT Queue…). When we go into this new ODP source system of EC Payroll, the application component folder tree is totally different from what we see in EC Payroll. It seems to be from somewhere local within the BW system. The Replicate datasource option is not available. Hence, we try to create a new datasorce manually. It forces us to select an Operational Data Provider from an empty list. The option of entering fields for datasource is greyed out. So, we cannot manually create a datasource. It seems to me that it is expecting a BW type of ODP datasource even though the source system is EC Payroll. Our BW system production system currently has a BPC system set up as BW type of ODP source system, which is working fine. Other things I tried is to run Run program SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN per note 2577071 to avoid issues caused by authorization. What is the reason for us not be able to create/replicate datasource under ODP source system from EC Payroll source system? Is only BW type ODP source system available for our old BW system (BI_BASIS 7.31 with SP 30 and SAP_BW 7.31 with SP 30)? Or the ODP source system set up was not done correctly or something was missing? Thanks! Jenny

You have to create the datasources on BW side individually pointing to the corresponding ODP-s:

1. What are the details of the current EC payroll system version?

2.  Extract Data from EC Payroll and upload the same to the BW 7.31 system (as a flat file upload).
