I've been asked if we can keep a log of all requests (and responses) coming to our Gateway system. Not just the URI but the entire content of header and body. We don't want to store the information indefinitely but maybe going 30 days back or something like that.
I'm new to the Gateway and OData but I guess I could permanently activate the Payload Trace in transaction /IWFND/TRACES for all users. Or I could permanently activate the SICF recording of selected services. But I have a feeling that this is not the intention with either of those transactions?
So I guess my questions are...
1) If I have to do this type of logging, what would then be the "correct" way of doing it?
2) Should I even do this? Would it make sense? What would the "cost" be - in terms of straining the system performance?
Request clarification before answering.
