Can HANA EXPRESS used as a location for SAP DATA SERVICES repository?

is it possible to use HANA Express as the database that holds the repository for SAP Data Services or SAP Information Steward?

I know that the PAM says that the full HANA product is supported, but unclear if that includes the Express Edition.

Hi Jonathan,

The PAM references note

• 1600140 - SAP Data Services 4.x and SAP Information Steward 4.x compatibility with SAP HANA

There is no explicity mention of the platform edition but the express edition only comes with community support (i.e. a comment like this one). In other words, the express edition is not supported per sé.

Technically, the express and platform editions are very similar (identical for most parts) so for dev/training/test it should work fine. For production, however: not supported.
