Can Anyone guide me to know abt the documentation with Calculation Expression in Console (MDM 5.5 sp04)?
Hi Sasidhar,
You can define a field as a <b>calculated field</b> using the Calculated field property in MDM Console. When you set the calculated field property to <b>Yes</b>, MDM allows you to define a <b>calculation expression</b> for the field so that the value of the field is based on the values of other fields and attributes.
You can find the required documentation for Calculation expressions in MDM5.5 SP04 Data manager reference guide ---<b>page no 179</b>.
Hope this will help. You.Let me know further requirement ,if any.
Thanks,

Hi,
If you are looking for syntax and usage of functions etc, then there is no documentation available on that. Please let us know in case you need to build any specific expression.

Thanks for the Replies.
I have a specific question now..
Is there anyway we can relate two fields in a record table..inside Data Manager....,eg. If I select a field in a Record Table..I need to get another related field to be populated Automatically.....
I thought I can do that by creating some relation between the fields in the DataManager. Is there any way out within the MDMConsole itself..?
Hi Sasidhar,

You can define one field as a Calculated Field in the MDM Console and write a calculation expression which calculates the field value based on another field's value.
Although in the Data Manager the calculated field does not appear to be populated automatically; all you need to do is - right click on the records(Records Pane) in the Record Mode and select '<i><b>Recalculate'</b></i> from the context menu. The calculated field should get populated as per your calculation expression.
Also, there is no specific documentation on calculated fields. However, there was a How-to guide on 'Identifying duplicates in MDM 5.5 SP03' where the concept of calculated fields and calculation expressions was extensively used with examples. You could find it on Service Marketplace or else give me you e-mail address; i'll forward it to you.
Let me know if this helped your cause.
Regards,
Siddharth.
