Cache for derived columns

When we promote Web Intelligence reports along with underlying Universe to another BOBJ instance, say from Quality to Production, the reports that use derived columns from the Universe error out in the target instance while running with message:

"Some objects are not available to your user profile. You cannot refresh this document. (IES 00002)"

They work when we manually delete the derived columns and add them back to query. It looks like there is a cache pointing to the source BOBJ system that prevents objects to refresh in the new environment but I am not sure about the details and how to overcome this error without the manually modifying the query. We are on BOE Version 4.2

When you are doing the promotion are you promoting the connection too?

Create a new job without selecting any dependents (just the web-I report and do not select universe, connection, etc) and see what is happening.

If the report contains derived columns, we get this issue regardless of including the dependents

This is not the way typically it works. I assume you are using 4.1 or 4.0 and not 4.2 as you had mentioned in your post.

It could be the case that you have hard-coded references in your derived table or your report Query to the connect to of your data-source in your DEV environment.

Raising a support ticket with SAP would be the easiest way to resolve the problem who can "see" the real issue and analyze the logs.

are you able to open this report if yes, try re-pointing the report to the same universe before refreshing.

Hi Raunak,

Opening the Query Editor dialog pops an error stating the query contains unidentifiable objects and automatically removes the derived columns  from the result objects, and we have to manually add them back manually and everything works fine. I will go ahead and open a help ticket with SAP

I had the same mesage, but  I was able to open the report and then i re-point the report to the same universe and all works ok. It worked excellent for me. Thanks so much Raunac Kumar

Hi mate,

Check this, could be a rights issue:

Some objects are not available to your user profile. You cannot refresh this document. See your Busi...

Cause

You do not have the correct user rights to access the data for one or more objects included in a query. As you are not permitted to access the data for these objects, you cannot refresh the report.

Action

Ask your BusinessObjects administrator to change your user profile to make these objects accessible.

We get the error even when we try to run the reports using the Administrator account.
