BW transfer data to 3rd party system Oracle/MSSQL with field value filled with space

Hi BW experts, 

This is Manish Kesharwani here, I am working on BW4HANA implementation. 

Thank you for reading my message. 

Currently we are facing one challenge. 

S/4 to BW to Oracle/MSSQL 

We are receiving data from S/4 to BW and then we are distributing data from BW to 3rd party systems through Open hub push dbconnect which are non SAP systems using Oracle or MSSQL database. 

Every field that has character data type and is not filled in S/4 when transferred to Oracle or MSSQL, include a space as a value. 

Our customers have raised it as an issue, that in S/4 for that field is blank, then in Oracle, that field contain space is not consistent. their concern is source value must match with target value, even in cases when there is no input of data in source. 

Please guide me, if you have come across similar situation or how can I overcome this situation.

did you check the transformation-rules in BW from S/4 to BW and also BW to OH ?

hello nachtaktiv, thank you, Yes we check the transformation rules in BW from S/4 to BW and also from BW to OH. We debug the entire flow, adding of space to non key character field is happening after End Routine transformation of BW to OH. So we could not able to really find where the space is getting added.

maybe some default-value in DB (accidentally a space character instead of NULL or blank ) ?

hello nachtaktiv, I also think the same, I could not be able to find it out, even through debug cannot find. May I know please, do you have similar open hub create table in 3rd party system and also transfers through pushdb connect. if yes, could you please share the screenshot of table created in the 3rd party system. it would be of great help to us to prove to SAP, that this is not a standard behaviour.
