BW Consolidation and Upgradation Project

Dear All,

We are in the initial phase of BW Consolidation and Up gradation Project , We
plan to upgrade system from  BW 3.X in to
BI 7.4 powered by HANA..

Our initial analysis, we would like to know the list of features which are
obsolete in BI 7.4 compare to BW 3.X ( Both BW and ABAP program perspective) .
So that , we could perform precautionary action before we start the up
gradation...

Hence, we kindly expected your inputs and appropriate document which could fulfill
our requirement .

Hi Siva,

there are some useful upgrade check list on Google for the same. please search and get it.

Normally we need upgrade bw 3.x to 7.0 and then to 7.4.

Use search term as " BW 7.4 or upgrade check list bw 7.4".

I could find list of features which are available in new version (7.4)
compare to old version( 3.X) , But, conversely , I need an information which
are obsolete ...

Like Info spoke is Obsolete in BI7.4 compare to BW 3.X....

Hi,

Bw 7. 0 and 7.4 may have same(most) objects.

so you can check comparison between bw 3.x and 7.0 version. that might be useful.

There are lot of threads on Google.

Like info source/info spike/RSSM authorizations are obsolete.

Bw 7.0 upto psa, we can laod data by using info pack.

dtp - we can load data to targets from psa.

Authorization analysis - RSECADMIN.

info spokes replaced by open hub destination.

ODS - called as DSO(bw 7.x)

There is no data marts here. thru transformations we can connect any target to target.

New concepts - SPO(symanticc portioned objects) and composite info providers,Remodeling and repatriations.

BW 3.5 BEx tools are not going to be there, Means u can keep 3.5 queries but u have to edit them in 7.x tools only
