Hello everyone,

in RSECADMIN we have a user who is not allowed to see some company codes.

There are also some bex reports in witch these company codes are excluded. Normally he can see the company codes that he is authorized to. But if the excluded company codes are selected in the report. he gets authorization errors.

The following selections are excluded:

And he can see the following company codes.

Is there any way to adjust the authorization without changing the selected company codes in the report?

Hope I made it clear.

I am very grateful for every tip.

Regards

M.K.

There is no way. All the authorization controls are handle at the selection level. If you select the data for the company AT05 and AU17, you need authorization for both companies. If you don't do any selection on the company code, you need authorization on all company codes.

So to handle this case, you have to modify the query. This is what authorization variables are for.

Frederic

Hi Frederic,

actually the permissions for AT05 and AU17 are there. This is about the excluded company codes (#, CN27 and CH15). Because the user does not have these company codes in the selection. Therefore he cannot open the report.

Would there be another solution like this?

I'm pretty sure you will need authorization on all company codes if you exclude values in the selection of the query. Exclusion is not supported at the authorization level, you have to only select authorized values (include).

Hi Frederic,

hmm I understand, well there is no other way to adjust the permissions.

Many thanks for the answer.
