Business Partner Customer Vendor Integration (CVI) with update possibilities using BAPI

Hi Experts,

We are doing ECC to S/4 HANA migration with S/4 HANA 1809 version - On premise. We are using Data services to migrate the Initial mass load via BAPI. (Basically we have MDG on top of S/4 HANA and need to do MDG-F as well)

We found in several blogs and notes that RFC_CVI_EI_INBOUND_MAIN Bapi is obsolete and is recommended to use SOA. But for simplification, we are still trying to use BAPI CMD_MIG_BP_CVI_CREATE but it can only Insert and cannot update existing BP data.

Can we customise to update using this FM? If so how and is there any other alternate BAPI that can be used.

Hi, CMD_MIG_BP_CVI_CREATE can add new addresses, company codes, sales areas, ... to existing BPs. It can't change existing DB records for any of the BP-related tables.

Note that the SOA service is released, so you can expect greater stability there.

As this FM, CMD_MIG_BP_CVI_CREATE is a migration cockpit related program, is it recommended to use it with Data services? 

If not can you please suggest any other FM/ BAPI which can be used to create BPs with customer data like, company code, address, dunning, sales etc..

CMD_MIG_BP_CVI_CREATE is still obsolete, not not for Data Services. I'm not aware of any released ABAP API for BP including customer/supplier data, but have anyway left that topic five years ago. any released ABAP API for Business Partner, but have left that topic five Years ago anyway
