Business Objects 4.1 SharePoint 2013 Integration

Hello everyone,

My company has upgraded our SharePoint environment to 2013 (SP2013), and they're now interested in BOXI-SP integration. Does anyone know if the Business Objects Enterprise 4.1 S2 platform is compatible with the SharePoint 2013 platform? I read the supported platforms and it still shows 2010. However, I read a few other posts that say it may work and that official support was supposed to be available by now.

I am trying to confirm that Business Objects 4.1 SharePoint 2013 Integration does or does not yet exist.

thank you

Hi Travis,

depending on your BI Deployment, we are actually already supporting Sharepoint 2013 on a "Use Case" Scenario.. The main reason for not officially supporting Sharepoint 2013, has been the breakdown of WebI with the SP2013 engines.. If you do not use WebI within the Sharepoint Integration, you may want to request an exception via your sales channel to run BI4.1 against Sharepoint 2013

The limitation with Web Intelligence has been resolved with BI4.1 SP03 and is scheduled to be released by end of March 2014..

Hi Merlijn,

BI 4.1 SP03 has just been released.  But I can not install it on our Sharepoint 2013, since you need to full installation and not only the update to go through the requirements checks.

Any idea if you can combine the installation files of the full IOMS 4.1 SP02 files with the SP03 update files in order to get by the system requirements checks ?

Grtz,

Hi Geert,

There is a FULL Build of BI4.1 SP03 available on SMP..

If you navigate to -> SMP -> Software Downloads -> Analytics Solutions -> Browse -> Installation and Upgrades -> SBOP BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE PLATFORM (SBOP ENTERPRISE) -> SBOP BI PLATFORM (ENTERPRISE) -> SBOP BI PLATFORM 4.1 -> Windows

You will find the FULL build of BI4.1 SP03 code line..

Hope this helps

Hi, We have confusion where we need to install IOMS. is it on top of BOE Platform or SharePoint Server?

if the IOMS is on Sharepoint server do we need to install BO web tier in Share point server?

Can you please provide us the steps. SAP BO 4.1 SP03

Thanks.

Hello,

you have to install the IOMS 4.1 SP03 Package on your Sharepoint.

Please check the following Guide:

http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/sbo41/en/sbo41sp1_ioms_admin_en.pdf

You do not have to install a Web Tier on your Sharepoint host.

Hi, It needs to be installed on the sharepoint server.  During installation you need to point to the BOE platform.

I tried to install this on our Sharpoint Foundation 2013, but we had issues after the installation (without errors), that some sharepoint apps were not responding anymore.

So be sure to have a restore point ....

Succes,

Geert

The IOMS install guide seems to be lacking the 2013 details. I have requested our documebtation team to update the manual accordingly

Thanks Denis.

I am looking for a document for 4.1 as customer is still on BI 4.1 , and i can see the installation guides for that.

BUT i need a presentation / document stating limitations and which modules are integrated with sharepoint .

Please let me know if you have any document / presentation convering the
intergated modules and limitations.

Thanks & Regards

on the same page, on the left side is a navigation menu.
select Business Intelligence platform BI 4.1 and under Integration kits you'll see 2 guides for Sharepoint.

That is all that is available for it and both cover what you need.

There is also SDK documentation for .NET, again , on the same page, in SDk section.

Supported Platforms IS the official word on the subject as far as supportability goes.

Once SP03 for BI4.1 is released this might change (scheduled for end of march)

Is there any way of knowing if SharePoint 2013 integration is in the pipeline? We're implementing both BOBJ 4.1 and SharePoint 2013 here and it would nice if we can integrate the report content with the SharePoint apps.

Hi,

in this case i would recommend you open an Incident with the SAP Suppor and ask if SharePoint 2013 will be a supported Platform within SP03 for BI 4.1

Hi,

I opened an incident and SAP replyed that there was no indication when Sharepoint 2013 will be supported.

Let's hope for SP03 at the end of the month like Denis suggested.
