Business Application Studio - Failed to load UI5 component when preview an adaptation project

Hi, everyone.

I generated an adaptation project for "fin.gl.documentdisplay" standard application on Business Application Studio and when I try to open SAPUI5 Visual Editor and preview it I'm getting the following message error:

"App could not be opened because the SAP UI5 component of the application could not be loaded."

"Failed to load UI5 component for navigation intent "#adaptationproject-display"

I checked on the navigator console the following error (404):

"Failed to load UI5 component for navigation intent #adaptationproject-display - failed to load 'fin/gl/documentdisplay/Component.js' from ../../resources/fin/gl/documentdisplay/Component.js: 404"

I don't know why this is happening and appreciate someone could help.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Diego,

Which version of SAPUI5 are you using? If it is 1.71, please set it to 1.71.43, since there is the fix for this issue.

To check and change the version open config file inside .adp folder.

Kind Regards,

Gery (SAPUI5 Adaptation project)

Hi, Gery.

I'm using SAPUI5 1.71.21, then I set it to 1.71.43 and finally preview is loaded. Thank you very much.

Now, when I try to edit it, I'm facing other issue: "You have higher layer changes in the app. In UI Adaptation mode, the app will reload without those changes."

Console log details:

Note: The last error regarding reading 'getSelector' method occurs after click on Edit button.

It's good to mention that I'm working on adaptation project for standard application Manage Journal Entries (F0717), version 7.0.27, SAPUI5 1.71.21.

Hi Diego,

This popup means that in the base application someone has made changes on a higher layer than the one you use currently. Here in this blog you can find more about the layer concept: https://blogs.sap.com/2019/12/16/adaptation-project-get-to-know-how-to-extend-a-fiori-elements-app/

But the solution of this problem should come from the application side, and if they have a change file with wrong layer, they have to fix it or delete that change. So I will suggest you to log an incident for this issue on application component. I think I have used this app recently so this issue might be already fixed and only the app should be updated I guess.

So just log an incident for this second issue.

Kind Regards,

Gery
