BUPA_SEND vs DRFOUT - what is the difference and when to use which one?

We have been using DRFOUT in our MDG system to manually force sync business partners to our ERP systems. This involves selecting each replication model one by one and entering the BP number in the filter and executing. It works.

I recently discovered BUPA_SEND which seems to trigger all active replication models at once - quite a time savings.

However, I have noticed in SLG1 that the two methods differ in at a minimum consulting the DRFF filters. BUPA_SEND seems to invoke them, where as DRFOUT seems to bypass them.

What other differences are there and why would one choose BUPA_SEND vs DRFOUT to manually resync a business partner?

Meanwhile there is sapnote#2679069 - MDG-DRF: DRFOUT does not use DRFF filters - which might explain the different behaviour  regarding DRFF filters

DRFOUT does not respect any DRFF filters by design once you specify a manual filter criteria in DRFOUT.
If you wish to replicate objects manually while also considering filters set in DRFF, this has to be done in the MDG UI using the "Replicate by <object> selection" functionality.
