Bug Report – Dynamic Text Boxes Not Updating on Subpages When Navigating Directly

We have a story with 28 pages in total—4 main pages and 24 subpages. Our design uses four date/year input controls located on the main pages to update dynamic text boxes across all pages. Each main-page input control is responsible for updating dynamic text boxes on approximately 6–7 subpages.

Issue:
When users bypass the main pages and jump directly to subpages, the dynamic text boxes fail to update. It appears that the necessary data and input control configurations are not loaded because the user did not visit the main page where the controls reside. As a result, the date data is not reflected on the subpages.

Impact:

  • User Experience: End users see outdated or missing date information on subpages.
  • Performance: Adding duplicate input controls to each subpage is not a viable solution as it degrades overall performance.

Request:
Could you please advise on a solution or workaround that ensures dynamic text boxes on subpages load correctly even when users navigate directly to them? We are looking for an approach that does not require placing input controls on every page.

Thank you for your assistance in resolving this issue.

Why not use story filter instead?

Hi William thank you for your answer, unfortunately we can not use story filter, each main page reflect different product details based on their own dates.

In this case, I would suggest to seperate 4 main pages and its relevant sub pages to 4 different stories. This will also help performance for users.
