Hi there,
I managed to migrate a BO 4.2 SP8 Patch 3 system to a new server, kinda like a systemcopy. The system itself is working fine and I configured everything accordingly to the "old" BO. The new server is running Windows Server 2019.
However reports in BI launchpad aren't showing up, when the language german is choosen.

All reports are actually written in german. But somehow I can only view them, when I change the language of my user setting to english.

I'd assume something with the language german in BO is wrong, since it's also showing partially weird characters, when set to german.

Unfortunately BO is quite new to me and at this point I don't know where to search anymore. Is there like a systemwide setting for german or do I have to deploy the web applications with different options?
Request clarification before answering.
In this case it helped to reinstall the DesignStudio, which was installed on the previous server as well. Although it was already installed after the server migration, it likely repaired some files, after I did the touch ups to the system. Now are both problems gone. Reports can be opened with the standard language and the weird characters are also not there anymore.

This part : After doing the install I moved the folder "SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0" from the old to the new server.
Is a very bad thing and should have never been done.

First of all, what do you mean by "kinda like a systemcopy"?
Second: Did you also choose the German language when you installed BI on the new server?

The database is HANA, so I moved parts of the BO to the new server, after doing a fresh install without "resetting available database", so that the cms and auditing stay untouched. After doing the install I moved the folder "SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0" from the old to the new server.
At this point I'm actually not really sure anymore if I did the installationprocess in itself in german. Though the language german was already available without any further configuration.
