Bex query setting "display rows as hierarchy" is showing in SAC table but not in SAC chart

In SAC we are using Live connection datamodels with SAP BW Bex queries.

For certain queries our users prefer the query setting "display rows as hierarchy".

This setting results in the hierarchical display (in a drilldown structure) of every characteristic present in the rows, without the need for a real hierarchy on these characteristics.

This setting is working fine for us in SAC tables, but not in SAC charts.

We can't determine if this is a bug or a feature, or something else we are missing.

Is there any way to use this setting with SAC Live connection datamodels in charts, and/or is there another way to achieve this?
