BDLS - Logical system name not valid

     Hi,

after a system copy, i ran BDLS. Due to performance issues i had to cancel the job.

Now i'm trying to start BDLS again in test mode. At the end of the program the system is giving a message:

'Logical system name is not valid... rename your system following the name convention <SYSID>CLNT<CLIENT>

Message Nr. RSAR819

The old name of the system was P1BCLNT035 ,  i created a new RFC-Destination K1BCLNT035.

what should i do about that ?

Thanks in advance

Hi Henning,

I could see that you are trying convert logical system name from P1BCLNT035  to  K1BCLNT035 and you have the error "'Logical system name is not valid... rename your system following the name convention"

In this case since you have alredy cancelled the BDLS job last time ,check if the new  logical system  K1BCLNT035  exits in BD54 ,If it is not exist in BD54 ,try to add the manully and then start BDLS coversion.

Hi Henning,

Check if K1BCLNT035 entry exists in BD54. If not, create new entry for this and try again BDLS.

Hi,

Delete your old logical system from BD54 and try adding it again. Hope, that will work.

Hello Henning,

Can you specify source and target SID and Client?

Hi,

Try to manually add the logical name via transaction BD54.

Then try BDLS again.
