Automated document submission to tax authorities from SAP DRC in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition

In SAP DRC for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition, is it possible to automate the submission of electronic documents to tax authorities directly from the eDocument Monitor (Cockpit), for example by using a background job or event trigger?

In summary, public cloud does not permit the direct background or event-based automation of eDocument submission from the eDocument Cockpit. However, you can achieve near-automation by combining scheduled background jobs and standard APIs/events provided within SAP DRC and BTP integration.

For now, I recommend using scheduled jobs to automate eDocument generation and validation, and if its critical to your business, I suggest you build a BTP iFlow or CAP service using SAP_COM_0527 to call the submit function automatically post-validation.

There might be the possibility for background submission of eDocuments through Event Handling Framework or Central DRC Service Orchestration in the 2602/2605 upcoming cloud releases. I suggest you keep an eye on the official roadmap.

Thanks Chris, the automatic sending was achieved through the Application Job app using the job template eDocument (General): Process Actions in the Background, taking as a reference note 3026804 to create the variant.
