Authorization object for MDG Search Material

Hi Experts,

Can anyone help me with the authorization object for SAP MDG Material to access Search material.

version SAP MDG 6.1 , EHP6, SP6

SAP Portal 7

Application is MDG_BS_MAT_SEARCH

For UI access we gave,

USMD_CREQ 

USMD_UI

M_MATE_NEU

M_MATE_MAN

We login from Portal and access 'Search Material' -> enter any mat # and click 'search'

"No results found"

This happens all the time, and we are not sure what authorization are necessary to complete search correctly.

If we give SAP_ALL, the search works correctly.

This sounds like an indexing problem rather than authorization problem. Make sure all the search connectors are working correctly and indexing is scheduled and running in order to get results in the search component.

Thank you for the quick response.

The indexing is fine and connectors are also correct.

If indexing was the problem, it should not work for all users.

Whereas in this case, it works for one user and does not for other.

Let me know how to check if it was indexing problem or authorization problem.

I tested the report 'ESH_TEST_SEARCH' from se38 for both connectors and it gives correct results.

Hi Shaila,

You need to schedule the indexing for 'USER_AUTHORITY' model in the 'MDG_MATERIAL' connector to include the new users/ changed authorizations.

You may also trouble using the above mentioned report in expert mode. For more details refer to the configuration guide for MDG-M and extensibility guide for search.

Hi,

Add display access for material related authorization objects in the role and check. objects description like materials and material type. Please refer standared roles.
