Hello SAC community,
I have an Authorization topic that I would like to run through you. We have programmed a process in SAC Application Design that allows end users to change dimension attributes via buttons (f.e. CAPEX application where users can create and edit CAPEX projects). This is working fine. But we would like to somehow restrict the users from going directly into the planning model and having the ability to change the dimension attributes right there and save it.
I am not sure if it is even possible. Once the user has the rights to maintain a dimension he can do it right in the model itself. But once we take of these rights, he is not able to create / edit projects in the CAPEX application.
Is there any authorization concept in SAC that you can think of, that could solve this problem? (Allow the user to somehow update the dimension attributes via the application but restrict him from updating the attributes in the planning model itself)
Thank you very much!
Adam

I think this would not be possible. The update on dimension is driven by update permission on dimension and once its assigned the user will always be able to edit the dimension explicitly by opening it. Its the same with model too, you need maintain rights to enter data but that also empowers you to delete facts from model data view.
