Assistance Needed: SAP Cloud Connector Connectivity Issue

Dear SAP Community,

I have been working on an integration between SAP ECC (On-premise) and a third-party application. As part of the on-premise integration, we aim to utilize the Cloud Connector to establish a secure connection between the SAP system and the SAP BTP Subaccount. To achieve this, we configured the Cloud Connector on our client VM machine (Windows) and connected it to the SAP BTP Subaccount by whitelisting the IPs as outlined in the SAP Official Documentation.

Recently, we encountered an issue with the Cloud Connector's connectivity to the SAP BTP Account. Upon investigation, we discovered that the IP addresses in the AWS region associated with our SAP BTP Subaccount had been updated. The documentation suggested that these updates might take effect later in Quarter Q1. Consequently, we whitelisted these new IPs in our client system. However, despite this effort, we continue to face network connection issues between the SAP BTP and the Cloud Connector.

Error:

Failed to resolve 'connectivitynotification.cf.ap10.hana.ondemand.com' [A(1)]

For reference, the SAP Cloud Connector Document can be found here:

https://help.sap.com/docs/connectivity/sap-btp-connectivity-cf/prerequisites#loioe23f776e4d594fdbaee...

The AWS region we are utilizing is Australia (Sydney) - AWS (cf.ap10.hana.ondemand.com).

Subsequently, we opted to grant full access to all IPs without restrictions. This led to successful connection establishment. However, when we reverted to providing access only to the mentioned IP addresses of the AWS region, the connection issue resurfaced.

Could you please assist me in understanding and resolving this issue? Your guidance will be immensely valuable in identifying the root cause.

Thank you.

Prathish.

Hi,

reading the error message (Failed to resolve 'connectivitynotification.cf.ap10.hana.ondemand.com), it seems that your host is not even allowed to do DNS resolving when configuring limited access. This definitely needs to be possible to get the IP addresses of the involved hosts

Best regards,
Markus
