Article Integration from Ariba Failed due to Missing Webservice Configuration

Hi experts,

We are trying to implement Article Integration from Ariba Sourcing via CIG with S/4.

Unfortunately, we are currently blocked by error below when trying to send Articles via Create Master Data Scenario from an RFP event:

No Web service configuration for this access path: "/sap/bc/srt/xip/arba/ArticleMaster/100?MessageId=DA5E0EA3-0E20-4756-B305-CD4

I have reviewed the CIG configuration guide below and we assume that web service configuration should have been set-up automatically by specially on step 6 - "Inbound" Transactions for Article. It seems I was wrong.

With help from our S/4 colleagues we also checked/verified that indeed the service does not exist or register in sicf - arba folder is not existing.

There is also no service registered in SOAMANAGER.

Hope you could share your experience on this type of integration:

a. could it be that we are just missing a configuration step? could share a reference/link you followed before?

b. is possible to manually generate/set up this in S/4? could share a reference/link you followed before?

c. any feedback from you providing any clue or insight to what else should we check in S/4 or even Ariba would be helpful.

the link you shared is SAP Retail? is this what you are using?

To be honest I'm not sure. My understanding is that SAP Retail is in S/4 already. The first link is what I found while researching for the list of Article types that can be sent from Ariba Sourcing.

The second link is what I found with instructions to set up transactions inbound and outbound to CIG.

Our client already has a working "Article integration" from S/4 to Ariba. We are exploring this time Article creation "from Ariba" to S/4.

the step here you gave in SPRO, did you already re-execute it including the article options? outbound and inbound?

after that check in SICF if the service exists

Hi louis.carlo.oclarit , I haven't yet. I am not the original owner of the config in S/4 and the last task I requested the variant owner to do is to enable "Article Master Response" in Outbound.

When you say 're-execute' how do I trigger that? Is it something like below:

1. open the variant in S/4 containing the Article configuration

2. "uncheck" all inbound/outbound boxes related to Article (see screenshot below)

3. save the variant

4. open again the variant, this time, "check"/enable the items related to Article

5. save the variant

Or is there a proper or standard way to actually perform the 're-execute' part? I'd gladly try (if the owner allows me) an approach if the steps are clear.
