Refering to KB - 3297935 - SAP Datasphere Analytic Models are not shown in AO. It is not possible to connect to Analytical models with AO 2.8. However, it is possible to connect to Analytical Datasets which are now being replaced by Analytical Models. Sadly, I have not been able to find any posts confirming that it will be possible to connect to Analytical Models with Ao in the future. I am aware that you can connect to Analytical Models with the SAP Analytical Cloud Excel version. However, this version is so poor in functionality and is missing so many features that it cannot be considered an option to use this instead of AO.
Are anyone here aware of a statement confirming that this connectivity will be supported in the AO in a future SP release?
Thank you in advance
Hello Frederik,
I just found out, that it's not looking good for Analytic Models in AO.
Have a look at this declined Infuence Request:
https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/303091
And also at the following Blog:
Quote:
"However, all feature investments are being made exclusively in in SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Office, which is our strategic solution, built on top of Microsoft Office 365. As consequence new Datasphere Analytic Models cannot be consumed in SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office as described in Note 3297935, though and SAP has no plans to add support it."

Thanks for the answer nicmar sadly as expected. This is huge blunder by SAP - very disappointing. 😕
