ALTER USER Statement on HANA DB

Hello SAP Community,

Based on the SAP Note: 1702224 - Disable password lifetime for technical users,
I am considering running the following statement:

ALTER USER SYSTEM DISABLE PASSWORD LIFETIME.

Can anyone help me with the questions below?
- Does this take effect immediately without restarting the system?
- Are there any prerequisites or concerns before running the command on the production system?
