Allocation with an # that should be spread - SAC

Hi there,

I need to perform the following allocation in a data action.

I use "VALUE" and "RATIO" accounts in my account dimension.

I have a ratio that I would like to apply for the specific order, under all the generic accounts this order has value for.

(generic accounts are set on generic dimension I use - these are not measures)

The problem I face is how to use the unassigned "generic account" and spilt the ratio to assigned "generic accounts"

please see the example below

I'm not sure what to choose as source dimension (ratio) as "breakdown dimensions" and as target dimensions?

do I have to do that in two steps? if yes, how?

You can model your allocation as follows:

This should lead to the expected results:

The only downside here is, you need an "Allocation Rule" per Value in GERNERIC Dim. An alternative would be have the weights (Ratio) also on GenericDim Level. This could be done automatically via a Data Action with an initial step to distribute the weights and a 2nd step to run the actual allocation. For the end user it would be transparent.
