AIF custom alerts on locked namespace

Hi everyone,
We are using Enterprise services to implement the integration with an EDI provider, instead of idoc as recommended now by SAP to be cloud ready. there are all standard SAP messages.

Business users monitor the messages on AIF. AIF is not licensed, not needed because we only use standard SAP messages.

I would like to create on the inbound messages some AIF custom alerts based on a couple of Warnings that are generated, but the namespace of the message type is locked because it is a standard message (/SDSAR).

Alerts are part of the namespace specific features which, as the spro documentation explains, "are not part of the delivery of the SAP Application Interface Framework."

Is there a way to define such custom alerts on a standard SAP namespace? should I unlock the namespace temporary, as mentioned sometimes for eDocument integration?
Could this be considered a best practice? Would it have an impact on licensing?

I have discarded using interface variants because I haven't seen any way to define alerts there, let me know if I'm wrong,

Looking forward for your expert suggestions

Thanks!
Fred
