Add include structure to tables using DDIF_TABL_PUT

Hi Experts,

I have a requirement wherein I have to add a structure to many tables, 185 to be precise. Manually this can be done using Edit > Include > Insert from the SE11 transaction after opening the table. But this would consume a lot of time.

However, for a fact, I am aware that the function module DDIF_TABL_PUT can be used to create a table (transparent) programmatically. But can the same be used for updating the tables with this new structure?

It would be of great help if you can share your experience or provide some insight on this.

You can copy a table and try DDIF_TABL_GET + DDIF_TABL_PUT on it, to see what happens.

Perform a where-used search on the FM, filter on program containing NOTE, you will find many samples provided by SAP in some notes to modify ddic objects.

You could also look at

• DDIF_TABL_GET
• DDIF_TABL_ACTIVATE
• TR_OBJECT_JUMP_TO_TOOL with action TRANSPORT

I tried a GET and then enhanced the DD03P table with the new field detail and then Activate FM. It worked, but now I need these changes to be locked in a transport.

By any change do you know how we can add these to a TR?

I already provided such a FM (but there are many ones in many threads/discussions) or you could submit report RADMASG0.
